Heritage talk: The Christmas Radio Times - Beeston Library

For many families, the arrival of the Christmas edition of The Radio Times signalled the start of the festive season. 

In this talk, local historian Robert Mee will look at the changing nature of the magazine, from the first edition in 1923 until 1999. He will also look at the programmes offered by the BBC on Christmas Day - there will no doubt be an element of nostalgia for days-past, but broadcasting trends and improvements in technology will also be covered.
