Nottingham is synonymous with Boots the Chemist and Jesse Boot is seen as one of the great city fathers. However, many women contributed to Jesse’s success, not least his wife Florence, who was a businesswoman, philanthropist, founder of Boots Booklover’s Library, first woman director of a UK company and much more.
