A look at harnessing the power of storytelling to bring history to life, using contemporary accounts to ‘voice’ the past; and highlighting some of the pitfalls of turning fact into fiction. Karen Winyard describes her use of documents, including those held at Nottinghamshire Archives, to create dramatic performances and a vivid and immediate experience for the audience.
