Small World Cinema: Animal Homes and Habitats

Join us as we explore animals and the places they call home. Children can create their own animal home or habitat out of matchboxes, using twigs, acorns, fabric, feathers and more. The workshop accompanies two dialogue-free animated short films featuring some curious and unusual creatures, and invites children to think about an interesting question: is home a place, or is it where your family is?

Enjoy Shoom’s Odyssey a French featurette about overcoming the odds, kindness and finding your family. And Capybaras, a family of Capybaras hiding from local hunters, find unexpected refuge in a nearby chicken coop. Based on his award-winning picture book, director Alfredo Sodeguit, has created a striking story of how accepting others enriches us all.
