Clipstone Library

Clipstone Library

Welcome to Clipstone Library!

Located near the historic site of the Clipstone Pit, we are a small library with lots going on!

Need inspiration for your next read? Pop in and see our staff who can show you our latest books. Whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, for the young or old, and everything in between, we’ve got you and if we don’t have it, we can reserve it from one of our many Inspire libraries across the county.

Across the week, you can find our staff getting rowdy with the little ones at our Rattle, Rhyme and Roll sessions, welcoming our reading groups, and even hosting regular creative crafts for our community. Our adult social activities here every Wednesday afternoon welcome everyone with a hot drink and a biscuit!

We also have a seed library where you can receive or donate seeds to keep our Clipstone looking green and full of flowers.

If solo research is more your forte, we have a great selection of fascinating local heritage records including access Ancestry, accessible via our PCs. Alternatively, come along with your laptop and settle in for a study day with free WiFi.

So, if you haven’t visited us yet, what’s stopping you? Check out our events listings by clicking the tab above.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Eclipse Viewing

We've had several enquiries about eclipse viewing glasses. Unfortunately, Inspire Nottinghamshire Libraries do not distribute eclipse glasses.

We do have lots of books about space and exploring the sky: Take a look at our library catalogue online.

If you’re planning to view the eclipse, please remember to view it safely using appropriate eye protection from a reputable supplier.
