Project Outline

Fee: £5000

Captivate is Nottinghamshire's cultural education partnership. Aimed at Teachers, Artists, Cultural Leads. We are the creative home for children and young people, schools, teachers and cultural enablers to access high-quality arts and cultural experiences across Nottinghamshire, with a current focus on the areas of Ashfield, Mansfield and Newark & Sherwood.

Link to current website: captivateed.org.uk

The programme is hosted by Inspire: Culture, Learning, Libraries and supported using public funding from Arts Council England and from local authorities and partners. We have over 22 partners working with Captivate to deliver, engage and ensure we thrive with arts opportunities.

An integral requirement of the Captivate new website, is being a central place for teachers, artists, schools and families to access opportunities and be more aware of how we support the creative lives of children and young people.

We have recently been successful with funding to continue Captivate and would like our new website to relaunch our offers and to do the following:

Create a vibrant, fun, colourful website that is visually strong and less heavy on words which appeals to schools, artists, families and young people.

Websites we like:

punchdrunkenrichment.org.uk

lyra.co.uk/about-us

boyblue.co.uk

futurecreators.org.uk

appetite.org.uk

  • Easy to navigate website and user-friendly system for the Captivate team to use
  • Provide regularly updated information about the offers, for the public and for press/publicity
  • Include regularly changed and updated videos, photos, graphics and feature articles
  • Host a live social media feed from the front page to our website and the Takeover Instagram
  • Act as a landing page for all social media, eshots, press releases etc about the project
  • Gather information and sign up for people wanting to get involved, sign up to our free membership
  • Partners to have opportunity to upload, link their own websites
  • Showcase projects, case studies and opportunities for Children and young people
  • Use our existing content to create a more up to date, fresh and colourful website.
  • Create separate headings/ child pages using current headings/ content as well as discussing new layout
  • Be an accessible site compliant with WCAG 2.2
  • Ensure we have a cookie control on the website
  • Have a direct URL – either a microsite domain, or linked from a direct URL created as a redirect from the main site

The Captivate team and Inspire marketing team will be responsible for content creation and day to day updating of the site so the interface should be easy, quick and flexible, for attractive presentation of various, regularly changing, content. The content management system (CMS) should allow multiple users with varying levels of admin/user access.

As the site will showcase illustrations and photographs, the ability to easily resize and align these attractively on the page would be required. We have an array of images and videos to be uploaded to offer a more visual presence.

The live engagement element is a key part of the project and the website.

A very quick turnaround is required (August 2024).
