Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Educator

What will you learn?

You will be required to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of early years education and care, including showing that you can support and promote children's early education and development. You will learn how to plan and provide effective care as well as teaching and learning that enables children to progress and prepares them for school. You will make accurate and productive use of assessment, develop effective and informed practice, safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children, work in partnership with the key person, colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals.

Is it for me?

You will need a good standard of English, maths and IT. You will need to have good communication skills both written and verbal.

You will also be required to be working or attending a voluntary placement (16 hours per week minimum) so you can be observed during different activities such as; snack time, story time, liaising with parents/carers and carrying out risk assessments. 

Attendance

Star dates are throughout the year at a time to suit you. Subject to Covid-19, vists can be made with a tutor at your workplace. 

Assessment

There are 4 mandatory assignments to complete.  

You will also be assessed by a range of other methods to suit including but not limited to; observations, professional discussions, reflective accounts and witness statements.  A good level of Maths & English are required to complete this qualification.

What are the progression opportunities upon completion?

You may wish to progress on to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
