About this course

Unlock the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and discover how it can transform the way you work, plan, and grow a business. Whether you're employed, self-employed, thinking about starting a business, or simply keen to future-proof your skills, this hands-on beginner course will help you explore some of the practical benefits of AI in a business context, no technical background required.

Designed for adults who are new to AI, this course will guide you through the essential tools, techniques, and trends shaping modern workplaces. You’ll discover how AI can help you generate and refine business ideas, build smarter business plans, improve customer engagement, and save time on everyday tasks. With step-by-step support, you'll explore how to use AI for creative content, digital marketing, social media campaigns, and simple data analysis, always with a focus on real-world applications and ethical considerations.

Throughout the course, you’ll try out accessible AI tools that can help you write blogs, generate product descriptions and enhance decision-making in small business or entrepreneurial settings. You’ll also consider the strengths and limitations of popular AI tools, comparing their relevance, cost, and ease of use.

By the end of the three sessions, you’ll be able to explain what AI is, identify how it’s used in different industries, and apply it confidently in marketing, planning, and content creation.

No prior knowledge is needed, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore the future of work.

This course, for adults, is funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
