Do you have a collection of buttons in a tin? Has it been passed on from a family member, give them new life and use them in a creative way. You will use your collection of buttons to create a mix of Jewellery items such as earrings, pendants, or bracelets. It is a great way to use buttons to create something new and keep memories of items alive.
What will you achieve by the end of the course?
Demonstrate Practical Assembly Skills: learners will successfully create and complete at least one button Jewlery piece using appropriate jewellery assemble techniques, ensuring structural integrity and durability.
Achieve Consistent Finishing: learners will produce at least one jewellery piece with clean edges and secure fastenings.
Share stories: learners will share stories and memories of buttons.
Evaluate Environmental Impact: learners will assess the environmental benefits of using recycled materials versus new materials in handmade crafts.
What you will need to bring to the course:
Buttons
Needle
Jewellery findings such as tigerwire and crimps
Jewellery making wire and jump rings
Jewellery making tools (tutor will have some to use in class)
Tutor will bring some wool scraps to be used in the class,

Residency in England
To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must be living in England permanently and live outside of the devolved areas listed below or live within the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) devolved area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire).

Residency Eligibility – other criteria
If you are living in the UK on a visa we will require evidence of this in order to be funded for the course, you can upload this evidence when you apply for the course. (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
Some exceptions may apply for example
Your visa expiry date must be beyond the end of your course
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered by the Home Office
You are receiving local authority support under section 23C or section 23CA of the Children Act 1989 or the Care Act 2014
Any learner who is not funded full cost fees would apply to these courses.
