About this course

For learners to work towards how to hold a Crochet hook and yarn/wool to create a purse/bag using a variety of crochet stitches with a crochet hook and yarn/wool and sewing these sides up to make a small purse/bag. The history of Crochet. An understanding of  the different terminology used for English and American Crochet stitches and Crochet Hook Size Conversion for Metric, US & UK. 


What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners? 

How to hold a Crochet hook and yarn/wool. How to perform a variety of basic crochet stitches, such as single, double, treble and slip stitch, and an understanding of the different terminology used for English and American Crochet stitches. Crochet Hook Sizes Conversion for Metric, US & UK. A History of crochet. 


What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

By the end of the course learners will show secure knowledge of how to perform holding a hook and yarn/wool and to do a variety of crochet stitches, such as single, double, treble and slip stitch. The history around crochet. Understand the different terminology used for English and American Crochet stitches and the Crochet Hook Size Conversion for Metric, US & UK. 


Resources required by attendees:

A drink – water or juice, notebook and pen, laptop with internet on, email open, and a hook size 4/4.5/or 5 and yarn/wool
