About this course

If you could never understand the difference between a colon and a semi colon, or between their and there and they’re, then this is the course for you! We’ll take a fresh look at all the things you’ve forgotten or never understood at school so that you can write emails and messages with the confidence that you will be right (or should that be write?!) Please note, this course is not suitable for ESOL learners who have not completed an entry level ESOL qualification. This course is suitable for those who would like to brush up their grammatical skills. Throughout the course, we will cover: Spelling and grammar Homophones and homonyms – what’s the difference? Meaning of different words e.g. obviate; diffident; minutiae Correct use of punctuation – what’s a colon? Where should I put an apostrophe? The origins of some popular words we use everyday The difference between a noun; a verb; an adverb and adjective By the end of the course, you will: Master the basic principles of punctuation and understand the relationship between grammar and punctuation. Be able to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally.
