This course offers a clear and practical introduction to Indian Head Massage, teaching you how to perform it on yourself and others. You’ll learn a range of movement techniques that are key to effective practice. We’ll cover how to spot situations where massage should be avoided (contra-indications) to ensure safety. You’ll also explore the many health benefits of Indian Head Massage.
The course includes a look at the rich history of this practice and its roots in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing system. To support your learning, you’ll also study basic anatomy and physiology, giving you a solid foundation in how the body works. You will be introduced to the internal art of performing an Indian Head Massage on yourself and others. You will learn different movement techniques, identify contra-indications, understand the health benefits, and gain knowledge of the history of Indian Head Massage and the ancient healing system of Ayurveda, while also covering basic anatomy and physiology.
Please bring to the course with you:-
A drink – water or juice, a hand towel and comb/brush and a drink, a cushion and towel, comfortable clothes, notebook and pen

Residency in England
To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must be living in England permanently and live outside of the devolved areas listed below or live within the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) devolved area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire).

Residency Eligibility – other criteria
If you are living in the UK on a visa we will require evidence of this in order to be funded for the course, you can upload this evidence when you apply for the course. (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
Some exceptions may apply for example
Your visa expiry date must be beyond the end of your course
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered by the Home Office
You are receiving local authority support under section 23C or section 23CA of the Children Act 1989 or the Care Act 2014
Any learner who is not funded full cost fees would apply to these courses.
