In this course you may discover a new you for 2026!
Through a plan of suitable exercise and food choices, you could maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
You will discover new techniques to support your health, as well as finding ways to save money while keeping healthy. This course introduces you to a wide range of topics to help you rebalance, and restart a new healthy plan.
Topics include the benefits of traditional as well as Eastern exercises, breathing and balance for the body, healthy eating on a budget, as well as exploring an introduction to growing your own food.
The five sessions are as follows:
The benefits of exercise – You will be able to compare and analyse the best and most sustainable form of exercise for your lifestyle. Finding the right exercise means you can have fun while staying fit,
Breathing and balance – you will learn how the breath is key to mind and body, keeping us relaxed, in meditation, while using correct breathing techniques and balanced movements. The tutor is trained in Tai Chi principals and these are embedded in this topic.
Healthy eating is something we frequently hear about, although our supermarkets often promote the less healthy alternatives. You will learn the best nutritional choices.
In this session you will find tips to save money along the way. For example, you will discover how to make kefir yoghurt on a budget and how to make a nutritionally-balanced breakfast cereal, for a small cost
Following on from the healthy eating sessions, you will explore ways to grow your own organic food, in small containers, in window boxes or in a raised bed.
If you receive certain benefits you will be offered the course for free, however if you have a financial barrier which may prevent you from enrolling on the course, please visit our funding page for further information.
