Unleash your creativity and find inner peace with our Painting and Mindfulness for Beginners course. Designed for those new to both painting and mindfulness, the course offers a unique blend of artistic expression and meditative practices. Over a series of engaging, hands-on sessions, you will learn foundational painting techniques while also exploring mindfulness exercises to help you stay present and relaxed. No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and an open mind. Join us to create beautiful artwork and cultivate a sense of calm and well-being.
Through a series of enjoyable projects, demonstrations, and guided exercises, learners will be introduced to the fundamentals of journalling and sketching while developing the confidence to express themselves artistically.
Throughout the course, participants will learn:
- Basic concepts of mindfulness
- Combining mindfulness and art to enhance creativity
- Reflecting on personal growth through art and mindfulness
- How to express emotions through art
- Using nature and personal experiences an inspiration
- Basic painting techniques and mindful sketching
- Displaying and discussing completed works
By the end of this 6-week course, learners will be able to:
- Practice mindfulness techniques
- Apply at least three short mindfulness exercises (e.g., grounding, sensory awareness, mindful breathing) during journaling sessions to increase focus and relaxation.
- Engage with nature through observation
- Record a minimum of five nature-inspired reflections in their journal, demonstrating awareness of sensory details (sight, sound, smell, touch) within their environment.
- Develop creative journaling skills
- Complete at least six journal entries combining writing and/or simple sketches, using provided prompts to explore self-expression and creativity.

Sketching paper pad
Graphite pencils
Water based paint and/or inks
Paint brushes

Residency in England
To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must be living in England permanently and live outside of the devolved areas listed below or live within the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) devolved area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire).

Residency Eligibility – other criteria
If you are living in the UK on a visa we will require evidence of this in order to be funded for the course, you can upload this evidence when you apply for the course. (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
Some exceptions may apply for example
Your visa expiry date must be beyond the end of your course
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered by the Home Office
You are receiving local authority support under section 23C or section 23CA of the Children Act 1989 or the Care Act 2014
Any learner who is not funded full cost fees would apply to these courses.
