About this course
This course is for those wishing to gain the knowledge necessary to pass the Associated Boards of the Royal College of Music (ABRSM) Grades 3 &/or 4 Theory Exams
This course, in easy stages, further explains elements of music theory using Western music notation. Throughout the course, we will complete different exercises, culminating in the completion of ABRSM Theory Practice papers, which are marked to show your progress.
No experience is required to participate in this course, but it is recommended that you have previously attended Inspire’s Music Theory for Beginners course or have some knowledge of basic music theory.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge to complete an ABRSM Music Theory examination

To enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required). As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
