About this course

Discover how to “paint” with wool by creating textured, colourful pictures using 2D needle felting techniques. Working on a flat fabric surface, you’ll learn how to build up your design with layers of wool fibres, blending colours and shaping forms to create expressive artwork. You’ll start by learning the basics—how to use the tools safely, attach wool to a fabric base, and blend fibres to create depth and texture. You’ll begin with abstract designs to experiment with shape and colour, then move on to simple themes such as landscapes and flowers. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to expand their 3d needle felting. What will learners achieve by the end of the course? • Identify and use the basic tools and materials of 2d needle felting • Use needle felting tools safely and effectively to attach wool to a flat fabric surface. • Blend wool colours to create smooth gradients and shading. • Form simple shapes (e.g. circles, lines, squares) to build a composition. • Create a small landscape or floral piece using layering techniques.
