About this course

This course intends to explore the history of Nottinghamshire through its unique geology and geography, local, national and international politics and industrial/ technological innovation, commerce, belief systems, leisure and cultural portrayal. Through this analysis, we can determine whether Nottinghamshire has a distinct historical ‘character’ Throughout this course, we will explore historical events affecting Nottinghamshire, primarily through the prisms listed above. This will enable you to recognize the forces and combination of forces which have shaped the character of the county and have fashioned present-day Nottinghamshire.
