About this course

Paper Making is a simple, creative process that will enable you to produce a range of handmade papers from scratch. These can be used for card making, printmaking and other art or craft projects or as a piece of stand-alone art work. No previous experience is necessary! We will be creating a range of colour and white handmade papers and adding flowers, petals, grasses and leaves to the mix!

You will create your own paper pulp from a variety of different papers and natural materials. Learning how mix pulps to graduate colour and to create texture by mixing in natural materials. You will then use specialist paper making frames and presses to change your pulp into paper. You will explore the potential of the process through discussion of other artists and designers work and by demonstrations, personal experimentation and individual tuition.

By the end of the course everyone will have explored and gained confidence with the first steps of papermaking, produced a range of beautiful handmade papers and gained skills for future art and design work.
