About this course
Are you finding yourself stuck in a rut? Are you looking to move from just functioning in life to flourishing? Are you motivated to practice strategies and techniques to increase your wellbeing? Are you looking to bring more meaning and purpose into your life? Are you ready to harness your strengths and what works for you? Let go of what you don’t want and, move your focus to what you do want and build that vision.
This course will explore the practical application of Positive Psychology, facilitating your understanding of what creates wellbeing and flourishing in your life based on the scientific study of what makes life worth living. You will engage with science-backed strategies to foster emotional intelligence, strengths-based growth, and sustainable happiness.
We will explore topics from the PERMA framework of wellbeing, including developing emotional intelligence, identifying strategies for increasing positive emotions and experiences, fostering a shared understanding of strengths, developing a plan for balanced strength use, and exploring what gets us into the flow zone and fully engaged in life. This approach moves us towards understanding what creates meaning and purpose, fosters positive connections, and provides tools for setting goals to work towards flourishing.
There is no prior learning required; however, this course does require an openness to engage in discussions with other students and work on personal development between sessions, practising new strategies and techniques.
