Would you like to try your hand at watercolour? Perhaps you were not sure if you could paint but now have the time to explore as a beginner.
This course will help you build confidence in painting, beginning on a small postcard, you will explore four watercolour techniques, then move on to larger paper. Also, you do not have to be able to draw, as we will use tracing an image, to paint shapes from nature. We will also rule of three to create a simple landscape composition.
What will be covered on the course?
Session 1: Testing brush types and paint swatches
Session 2: Experimenting with colour and techniques
Session 3: Analyse 4 sample watercolour techniques
Session 4: Paint flowers
Session 5: Paint a simple seascape
Session 6: A simple landscape
What will you achieve by the end of the course?
Make pencil and paint marks on a postcard
Demonstrate colour mixing
Paint natural forms of flowers
Paint a simple landscape and sea scape
What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?
None just an interest in painting!

Residency in England
To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must be living in England permanently and live outside of the devolved areas listed below or live within the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) devolved area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire).

Residency Eligibility – other criteria
If you are living in the UK on a visa we will require evidence of this in order to be funded for the course, you can upload this evidence when you apply for the course. (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
Some exceptions may apply for example
Your visa expiry date must be beyond the end of your course
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered by the Home Office
You are receiving local authority support under section 23C or section 23CA of the Children Act 1989 or the Care Act 2014
Any learner who is not funded full cost fees would apply to these courses.
