Author Martin Edwards will give a uniquely personal perspective on the achievements and legacy of Agatha Christie at Mansfield Central Library. 2026 sees the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the world's bestselling novelist (and the most successful female playwright in history), Agatha Christie. Her legacy is to be celebrated by a major exhibition at the British Library, and the exhibition book will be co-edited by Martin Edwards.

Martin Edwards is a leading crime novelist, and winner of the CWA Diamond Dagger for his career-sustained achievement in the genre as well as numerous other awards. His latest novel is Fever Island. Martin is also a well-known commentator and critic and the author of award-winning books The Golden Age of Murder and The Life of Crime which explore the history of crime writing. Since 2015 he has been President of the legendary Detection Club, the world's oldest social network of crime writers, and one of his seven predecessors was Agatha Christie.
