Nottingham-based photographer/artist Brenda Baxter exhibits a series of photographs:
Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club London E2
Islivig School House, Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides
Broadmarsh, Nottingham
Attic Views, Nottingham
The four projects were completed over ten years as a result of researching and documenting changes to buildings and landscapes using digital photography and writing.
Brenda’s photographs record differing perspectives of changing urban landscapes in Nottingham and other places she has visited. These connect on a personal level and have relevance to her life stories and ancestry. A crucial part of her practice is to reflect upon the changes by documenting and recording the repetitive action of returning and reinterpreting differences and loss.
Brenda is co-ordinator curator of the community arts event Lady Bay Arts Trail based in Nottingham - www.brendabaxter.co.uk
Meet the Artist, Brenda Baxter – Saturday 19th March 2022 between 11am and 1pm
