Join Eve Makis, award-winning author of The Spice Box Letters, and Clare Harvey, the award-winning author of The Gunner Girl, in conversation as they talk together about their books and works before going on to speak about reading more generally with reference to some of the fascinating insights learned from our I Am A Reader project of which both Eve and Clare have been a part.

Clare Harvey is the author of four novels with historical settings. Her first book, The Gunner Girl, won both the Exeter Novel Prize and the Joan Hessayon Award for debut fiction and was followed by The English Agent, The Night Raid and The Escape. Her fifth novel, set in wartime Mauritius, is awaiting publication.
Eve Makis is the author of four novels and a recipient of the Young Booksellers International Book of the Year Award. Her fourth book The Spice Box Letters was shortlisted for the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize and the East Midlands Book Award. Her works
have been translated into eight languages.
