The Winter Mini Challenge is back!  Just like the Summer Reading Challenge the Winter Mini Challenge is aimed at children ages 4-11 and encourages children to keep reading over the Winter period.

This year’s Challenge has teamed up with the publishers Knights Of to highlight how everyone is a hero!

The Winter Mini Challenge is run through the Winter Mini Challenge website. To take part, children simply read three books of their choice over the winter holidays, then add each book to their Winter Reading Challenge website profile and leave a short book review.

Books added to the website during the six week Mini Challenge period will count towards unlocking special rewards including a certificate and a virtual badge.

How to take part

  • Sign up at www.winterreadingchallenge.org.uk  to create an online profile (if you took part in Silly Squad:  The Summer Reading Challenge you might have a profile already)
  • Read at least 3 books over the holidays.
  • Rate and review the books on the Winter Mini Challenge website to unlock a virtual badge and download a certificate to print.

The Winter Mini Challenge starts on Tuesday 1 December and finishes on Friday 15 January.

What books can be read on the Winter Mini Challenge?

Children can read books they already have at home, from school or from the library including our range of e-Books and e-Audiobooks.  You can see the range of e-books and e-audiobooks we have available for children here
