Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library's 60th Birthday Celebrations

Come and meet the wonderful library team and fellow book lovers as we celebrate 60 years of providing exceptional library services to our community! Kirkby Library will host a series of exciting events and activities to celebrate their 60th birthday, and you're invited. Take a look at what's on: 

Monday 28 September - Saturday 10 October: Exhibition

Discover old photographs, a timeline of the past 60 years at Kirkby Library and a history display from the Kirkby Archaeological Society. Write in our memory book and preserve your memories of Kirkby Library. Available to view during library opening hours. 

Monday 28 September

Rattle, Rhyme and Roll, 10.30am 

Our regular relaxed, friendly rhyme session for babies and toddlers. We will be joined by Ashfield Play Forum who will host a birthday-themed craft after the session. Free - no booking required.

Wednesday 30 September

Places of Welcome, 10am 

A special 60th Places of Welcome! Drop in for a complimentary cuppa and a chat with friendly faces. Meet new people, find things out, share your skills or just have a drink and relax. Everyone welcome! Free - no booking required. 

Thursday 1 October 

Celebration Event, 10.30am - 12pm (plus activities running all day)

Join us for our official celebration event. Explore the Inspire 10th Birthday Exhibition, take part in craft activities, and enjoy a slice of cake! Free - no booking required.

Friday 2 October 

Presentation from Kirkby Archaeological Society, 11am 

Kirkby Archaeological Society will present on the Kirkby conservation area, Kirkby Castle, their most recent project at Cavendish House, three rivers, railways, mining and nature. Free - all are welcome. 

Saturday 3 October 

Children's craft, 10am - 12pm

Monday 5 October
