As we near Remembrance Day, Jo Riley tells the story of the thousands of underage volunteers who signed up in the early stages of the First World War. Many gave false names making it hard for parents to discover what had happened to their sons. Mansfield's Liberal MP, Sir Arthur Markham, worked tirelessly to stop their recruitment and return the underage soldiers home to their families
