About WORD! with George Szirtes and friends
Join George Szirtes and friends for this much anticipated, Po-Fest-tastic, postpandemic first one back in Beeston WORD! Poet, translator, biographer and former International Booker Prize judge, George Szirtes was born in 1948 in Budapest, and came to England following the Hungarian Uprising in 1956. His many awards include: the Faber Prize, TS Eliot Prize and the International Booker Translators’ Prize (twice).
George will be joined by WORD!’s Lydia Towsey and the acclaimed Panya Banjoko, author of the recently released (Re)Framing the Archive (Burning Eye Books, 2022).
