In 1948 the Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury carrying over 1000 passengers from the Caribbean to a new life in the UK.
As part of a National Lottery Heritage fund project, local Nottingham charity Always Community interviewed over 50 members of the Windrush generation. This exciting project asked a simple question – Why did the interviewee make their Windrush Decision?
We've been lucky enough to have the pleasure of interviewing Pastor Weaver, Canon of Southwell Minister for the Church of England. Antiguan born, Reverend Weaver CBE was a Police Officer in its constabulary and came to the UK in the 1960's. He holds a masters degree, was a Lead Officer for the county on Equal Opportunities and Race Equality and is a 'talented' painter.
