Welcome to Burton Joyce Library!
Nestled in the heart of the village, our library is a bright, airy, relaxing space where you can sit back, plug in, or get lost in a good book! With friendly staff who are always ready to help, we offer a treasure trove of facilities – books, audiobooks, OS maps, computers, scanning, photocopying and printing – you’ll find everything you need under one welcoming roof. We have a small car park, and the library is wheelchair and pushchair accessible. There’s free Wi-Fi too, and a cosy seating area perfect for working, socialising, or simply enjoying a quiet read with a hot drink from our tea station.
We have a great selection of books to suit all ages and genres from fiction to crime to children’s books and many more in between. For the curious minds and history buffs, our History and Leisure sections are bursting with fascinating literature, photographs, and maps. Budding historians are very much at home here, and we’re always happy to help you dig into family roots via Ancestry.com and the British Newspaper Archives. You can also explore the rich heritage of Burton Joyce and the surrounding villages through our excellent Local History Collection. If you are into art our Gallery is the place for you, we have a dedicated space for exhibitions of local art – available to book for free if you’d like to share your creations, just ask a member of staff.
Little ones can shake, dance, and sing their way through our weekly Wednesday morning Rattle, Rhyme and Roll sessions (even during school holidays!) and enjoy regular drop-in children’s craft events; grown-ups can unwind at our book groups, Yarn & Threads gatherings, or Burton Joyce and Bulcote Local History Society events.
Whether you’re looking to learn something new, meet friendly faces, or simply enjoy a good chat, our library is the place for you.
We look forward to welcoming you at Burton Joyce library.
