About this course

This course shows you how to paint your pet using acrylic paint. You will be taught the spontaneity of mark making and an instinctive approach to colour and tone to achieve an expressive animal portraiture painting in acrylic. The course is suitable for improvers.

Your will be guided step-by-step to build your skills and confidence, focusing on subjects like composition and mark-making using rhythm, repetition and intuition:

- Selecting appropriate photo references

- Analysing examples of animal portraiture painting in the work of different artists

- Using different tools to create mark-making

- Experimenting using acrylic

- Complete different projects in expressionist style

- Varnishing

The art materials are to be discussed during the first session of the course when the tutor will cover the topic.
