This 6 week course is designed to enable participants aims to help adults gain the skills and knowledge to manage anxious thoughts and feelings, reduce anxiety and increase self-awareness.
You will receive a one and a half hour online ‘lesson’ with your tutor and other students once a week and then will be given short tasks to work on over the week and feedback to the group the following session.
We will be using Zoom (a virtual video application) to present the course. You will need to be able to access it ideally on a PC/laptop or tablet. You will need to be able to send and receive emails from your tutor during the course and these will contain links to the information you will need.
On this course, we will be looking at:
• Understanding what anxiety is, what makes us anxious and what can happen in our brain and body.
• Calming the anxious mind - Mindfulness for anxiety
• Anxious thoughts, feelings & behaviour
• Understanding and challenging negative thought patterns
• Identifying networks and resources.
• Developing your on-going self-care plan
This is an online course. A suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access will be required. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England.
