About this course

This course will focus on a timeline in history looking at a combination of Architecture and Art History. Discover the rules of architecture such as why doric columns were so important! Discover interesting art movements such as Bauhaus, Art Nouveau and Expressionism. Delve into the meaning of art!

Over the course of the 6 weeks, you will learn about a variety of art movements and artists who were so influential to the way we see our world today and where we’ll look closely at architectural amazements as well as disasters!

By the end of the course, you will:

Build confidence in discovering art history and expressing own views.
Learn about different art movements and understand their importance in our history.
Learn about different architecture styles and understand their importance in our history.
Build confidence in working with others to help integrate into a work environment.

What you will need to bring to the course:

A basic sketchbook/notepad or paper to write notes, a pen, pencil, rubber, sharpener.

Residency Requirements (Additional Information)

If you live in the UK on a visa, we’ll need evidence of your visa to confirm funding. You can upload this when applying, and you’ll need to complete a short questionnaire.

Some exceptions include:

Your visa must last until after your course ends.
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for at least 6 months while their claim is being processed.
You are supported by your local authority under Section 23C or 23CA of the Children Act 1989, or under the Care Act 2014.

Anyone who does not meet the funding criteria would need to pay full course fees.
