About this course

Looking for something creative to do? Within this course you will use buttons to create new and upcycled creative projects.   Within the course learners will be introduced to several projects that use buttons and will develop skills of sewing & assembly which help develop creative skills, build confidence, social skills, hand-eye coordination and improve fine motor skills – dexterity.  

Learners will develop skills of sewing and assembly within creating their new items from buttons 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

 The learners at the end of the course will have developed a scale of looking at buttons  in a different way to create new projects.  These can include Journal covers, jewellery and home deco.

Learners will require the following for this course -

  • Basic Tool Kit – all-purpose scissors
  • Old buttons, 
  • Needle, (large eye)
  • Thread/wool,
  • Plastic canvas or alternative a stiff canvas fabric,
  • Felt brooch back or pendant bail
  • Non- Stretch Fabric ( Can be recycled from old clothing)
  • PVA Glue
  • General purpose pen, pencil and markers 

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
