About this course

The Christmas Craft course will give you the opportunity to explore a range of materials and processes to create a selection of beautiful Christmas inspired products. The course is suitable for all abilities and is a fun way to get creative and try out new ideas and techniques. Each week we will have fun exploring different processes and will create a range of products which you can take home. You will learn through demonstrations, personal experimentation and individual tuition. By the end of the course, everyone will have explored and gained confidence in using a range of decorative techniques and will have produced a collection of unique Christmas themed products.

During the course, we will make a variety of eye-catching Christmas themed products. We will begin our first session by manipulating wire to create simple Christmas bead decorations which will look wonderful on display in your home. During our second session, we will create charming Christmas cards, giving you the opportunity to experiment with colour and pattern to make beautiful designs. In week three, we will create Christmas themed button artwork, which would look brilliant on display at home or make a fantastic gift for a loved one. During week 4, we will learn the technique of macrame, using a variety of knots to make simple Christmas tree decorations. We will create cute, wooden house hanging decorations in week 5. For those learners attending the six-week course, we will also experiment with printing techniques to create colourful gift wrap patterns and designs.
