About this course

This course focuses on its theme of the urban landscape based on the constant construction and deconstruction of the elements, the balanced play of lights and shadows or the subtle gradient that gives the frantic pace of the city. The principles of drawing and painting are progressively practiced with techniques, including drawing composition and perspective. You will discover how to apply contrast, colour theory, and tonal values to create beautiful expressive compositions using vigorous brushstrokes.

By the end of the course, you will be able to: - Create a completed cityscape painting using acrylics on canvas or paper, demonstrating understanding of composition, colour, and basic perspective. - Create few sketches and a composition study drawing - Apply at least three painting techniques – such as colour blocking, layering, and expressive brushwork – to represent buildings, light, and texture in an urban setting. - Use basic perspective principles (e.g. one-point or two-point perspective) to create a sense of depth and structure in their artwork. - Mix and apply a minimum of four colours to convey mood and atmosphere, inspired by real or imagined city scenes. - Develop and implement a marketing plan using at least 3 different channels (e.g., social media, email marketing, and local events) to promote their products.
