By understanding the history of colour therapy and how different cultures interpret specific shades, you will learn how to harness the power of colour to create positive life changes and boost your overall well-being. The course details exactly how different hues influence your mind, body, and emotions, providing you with actionable tools to reduce stress and improve your daily physical and mental energy.

Beyond personal wellness, the course introduces specialized skills like using professional colour cards to conduct insightful personal readings. You will also discover the health benefits of colour diets, learning how eating a variety of naturally colourful foods directly boosts your physical health.

Finally, the lessons explore the corporate side of colour psychology, revealing the marketing secrets top brands use to influence consumer behaviour and branding tactics so you can apply these insights to your own career or business.

What will be covered on the course?

The History of colour and its uses, how colour can affect us and how colour can enhance our personal health and well-being. From your wardrobe to your décor inside and out, to what you eat, colour surrounds us, and the effects colour has on us in all these forms.

Topics will cover the History, what colour is, the effects of colour, and how to use colour; how to conduct a colour reading using colour cards; and colour diets, and how to use colour to influence how you feel.

Covering Colour Psychology, use of colour in content marketing, how colour is an emotional cue, looking at Primary – secondary and tertiary colours, tints, hues, shades and tones. Components of colour, Biology / Evolution, Meanings and how they can affect us differently and our associations, how different cultures see and use colours, how colour influences our homes, marketing applications, choosing clothes linked to the seasons, how colour is used in brandings and Colour psychology.

By the end of the course you will be able to: - 

  • IDENTIFY THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF COLOUR THERAPY AND ITS APPLICATIONS

  • OBTAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF COLOUR IN HISTORY

  • DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO USE AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT COLOUR THERAPY TECHNIQUES IN PRACTICE SESSIONS

  • INTERPRET COLOUR AND HOW THEY AFFECT AREAS OF OUR BODY

  • DESCRIBE HOW COLOUR IS USED IN MARKETING AND IN BUSINESS

  • EXPLAIN AT LEAST THREE BENEFITS OF COLOUR THERAPY FOR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

or

  • Live outside the devolved areas listed below

You cannot enrol if you live in these devolved areas:

  • West Midlands Combined Authority

  • West of England Combined Authority

  • Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority

  • York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority

  • Hull and East Yorkshire

  • Greater Lincolnshire

  • Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority

  • Cornwall Council

  • Lancashire Combined County Authority

  • Buckinghamshire Council

Residency Requirements (Additional Information)

If you live in the UK on a visa, we’ll need evidence of your visa to confirm funding. You can upload this when applying, and you’ll need to complete a short questionnaire.

Some exceptions include:

  • Your visa must last until after your course ends.

  • Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for at least 6 months while their claim is being processed.

  • You are supported by your local authority under Section 23C or 23CA of the Children Act 1989, or under the Care Act 2014.

Anyone who does not meet the funding criteria would need to pay full course fees.
