About this course

Most card makers have used stamps to imprint and decorate the fronts of their cards. But, how many remember what inks should be used and when? 

What is the effect of different types of card and paper on the stamp? How best to add colour to the stamped image? 

This class revisits some of the basic rules of using stamps in card-making and looks at the ways to ensure a crisp image, which inks do what and how to store and look after your stamping equipment, which inks do what and how to store and look after your stamping equipment. 

Suzanne will demonstrate several techniques, that can be used across a variety of cards, you are welcome to join in with this class or sit back, watch and take notes to complete in your own time.

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners? 

Within the course learners will gain an understanding of:

• Different surfaces to stamp onto – Paper types, Fabric etc 
• Have using of Inks and the benefits of the products available on the market 
• Tools that can benefit getting crisp image 
• Understanding off of Colour theory when making up cards 
• Introduction of Card layouts 

At the end of the course learners will have an understanding of some the equipment available and have understanding which items are best for specific effects and styles

Materials & Equipment Required: 

• White or cream cardstock (*) 
• Selection of Stamps (*) 
• Watercolour paper and watercolour pencils (*) 
• Scrap paper, book pages (*) 
• Pencil, Scissors, Eraser (*) 
• Stamps of your choice (*) 

Selection of (*); 

• Permanent ink such as Archical, staz-on  
• Pigment Ink Pad 
• Coloured Dye Ink Pads 
• Masking or low tack tape 
• Greetings  
• Felt tip pens/Gel Pens 
• Artist or Decorators Chalks 
• Chalk applicators 

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.
