About this course

Using memories, images, published work and discussion, learners will complete writing tasks, culminating in creating an extended piece of writing using the seaside as a stimulus.

What will be covered on the course?

Description including use of figurative language and sensory imagery
Reminiscence writing
Structuring a narrative

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

Recall technical terms
Demonstrate understanding by taking part in the discussion of the themes of the session
To apply ideas through short writing tasks
To analyse the effectiveness of others’ work
To evaluate own participation in the session
To create an extended piece of writing based around the seaside

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

An interesting in reading and writing- no prior experience necessary
An enthusiasm for words and writing!

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
