About this course

In this course we will develop and practice the writing skills you need to write a short 5-10 minute radio play: how to devise a plot that works for sound, building a three-act structure plus creating distinctive characters and having a try at dialogue. It is helpful, but not necessary, to have done some creative writing before.

We will look at how to create a plot that works for radio with a distinct beginning, middle and ending. Also developing a good mix of characters for your play, and situations in which they will express their individual drama.

We will also look at how a radio play script is presented professionally for example to the BBC.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.
