On this course you will learn basic crochet techniques and create some small projects.  You will also learn how to follow a simple pattern and use basic crochet stitches to create small items.

On this course, we will cover:

  • Knowing how to read yarn labels.
  • Consideration of different types of yarn.
  • The basics of crochet starting from no knowledge and skills at all.
  • Learning basic crochet stitches, starting from a foundation chain, starting from a circle and working in a round.
  • Learning basic crochet abbreviations.
  • An introduction to reading basic patterns.

You will need a 4.50mm hook and some double knitting yarn.  If you struggle with your hands, some chunky yarn and 8mm hook may be easier to use.

This is an online course. A suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access will be required. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).
