About this course

Looking to being a bit eco-friendlier this Christmas, then this course will bring out your creative juices. Within this course you will use everyday items that might be going to landfill to create new and upcycled creative projects as Decorations for Home or Gifts.

Within the course learners will be introduced to several projects that use recycled materials. We will discuss what materials can be recycled. They will develop skills of assembly which helped develop creative skills, build confidence and social skills & hand eye coordination and improve fine motor skills – dexterity.

They will develop skills of assembly within creating their new items from recycled materials

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

Have understanding of craft equipment, and be able demonstrate safe use of these
Demonstrate how to use recycled materials in craft.
Develop/improve their eye and hand coordination - in Folding and Printing
Develop/Use counting skills & measuring
Analyse the benefits of creative activities to improved mental health
Show an ability of reflecting on your learning

Resources Required

Basic Tool Kit – all-purpose scissors, glue
Scraps of wool (colour you would like your bauble)
Brown Parcel paper or ends of wallpaper – alternative large sheets of paper such as maps or newspaper, paper bags or pillow cases to make santa sacks
Old greetings cards if you have them
washed out plastic milk carton
