This accredited Functional Skills course aims to improve your English skills and your confidence in using these.
Our experienced staff will help you to improve your reading, writing and speaking and listening.
You will start by doing an initial assessment, to decide, with your tutor which level you will be working at from Entry level 3 to Level 2.
You will be assessed near the end of the course on these three elements and once you have successfully completed these you will achieve a City and Guilds Functional Skills English qualification.
This course has been designed to be delivered online over 18 weeks, but you will be asked to attend your assessments in one of our Nottinghamshire libraries at the end of the course. Your tutor will arrange this with you. Please make sure that you can attend the lesson each week and that you will be able to attend an exam before enrolling on the course.
If you are new to learning English as a second language, an ESOL course may be more suitable for you, and these are listed on our website.
What you will need to bring to the course:
You will require access to a laptop or PC with internet access on which group Teams classes will be delivered by your tutor.
All resources that you need will be supplied by the tutor, but you may wish to have your own notebook to work in as well.
