Our comprehensive three hour Food Safety course provides you with the foundational knowledge to handle, prepare, and store food safely. Whether you are looking to build your confidence in a commercial kitchen or ensure safe practices in a community setting, this practical, non-accredited session explores the critical procedures that prevent food related illness and protect both consumers and businesses.
What you will learn (plus much more):
• Navigate Food Safety Law & Hazards: Understand the legal responsibilities of food handlers under the Food Safety Act 1990, how to cooperate with enforcement officers, and how to accurately identify and report biological, physical, chemical, and allergenic hazards.
• Implement Personal Hygiene Best Practices: Learn how proper handwashing techniques, the correct use of protective clothing, and strict illness reporting protocols (including the 48-hour symptom-free rule) drastically reduce the risk of contamination.
• Maintain a Safe Environment: Master ""clear and clean as you go"" techniques, the safe application of detergents and sanitisers, proper waste disposal, and how to identify and control common food pests.
This accessible course requires no prior experience and is ideal for anyone working with food who wants to understand the 'why' behind safety standards. By the end of the session, you will be fully equipped with the practical tools and awareness to champion food hygiene and handle food with absolute confidence.
