About this course
If you have done some French before, whether it be a beginner's course, GCSEs when you were younger, read your phrase book twice, a 300-days streak on Duo Lingo, or in any other form, this is the course for you. On this course, you will practice what you know, improve your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and much more. You will meet other learners who like to travel and there will be opportunities to learn about French culture in a relaxed class.
Only basic skills are required, such as ordering and buying food, talking about yourself and your family, and using short sentences. During the course, we will cover topics to help when travelling, booking an accommodation, talking about the weather, health, your plans, choosing a restaurant, etc. We will also cover the present, past and future tenses so that you can have conversations on different topics.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Converse in French with other learners about some topics such as holidays, travels, health.
- Be able to understand the main ideas and some specific details in beginner to intermediate-level French videos and spoken conversations.
- Increase your knowledge of Francophone culture.
- Read and write texts about familiar topics.
- Use the most common verbs correctly when speaking.
- Prepare a presentation and present it to the group.
