Have you always wanted to grow your own plants but not sure where to start planning?
Would you like to learn some planning techniques?
If so, this course for you.
This course aims to build your confidence to plan a growing space and what to plant by applying simple maths and planning strategies to ensure success.
The course will outline the steps needed for planning, measuring and preparing planting for Spring in these ways;-
• Choose dates for Spring bulb planting
• Measure and analyse a suitable planting area
• Calculate ratio of composting materials
• Cost materials and tools
• Plan a planting scheme
By the end of the course, you will be able to;-
• Read a bulb planting chart and safely plant
• Measure a suitable plot
• Exercise costing of materials and tools
• Interpret a planting table
• Make correct choices of seeds and plan space.
No previous gardening skills are required. This is a course for beginners.
This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form.
As this is an online course, you will need access to a computer/laptop and the Zoom app.
On completion of the course, you will be entered into a prize draw. The winner will receive food shopping vouchers.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
