About this course

This short 3-week online course has been developed to allow you to access and use the free spreadsheet applications provided by Google.  Google Sheets is useful for Clubs, societies and other community groups who want to improve their spreadsheet skills.  The ideas and functionality can easily be transferred to Microsoft applications such as EXCEL helping you to improve both your employability and digital skills. 

Taking place online and in the evening- it will fit around your current work/life commitments.


Course Content

1. How to set-up Google Sheets and introduction to the app

2. Formatting and filtering techniques

3. Using basic formula

4. Creating simple graphs

By then end of this course, you will be able to set-up a spreadsheet, use simple formulas, filter data and create a graph.


Who is it suitable for?

  • Learners on this short online course should be able to use a computer and have an active email account as resources will be emailed throughout the course.
  • As the course is online Learners will need access the internet and connect to Zoom.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
