About this course
Jigsaw Lino Printing is an ideal introductory process for both beginners and experienced printmakers to working with colour. It builds on the simple relief printing process that works through developing and using graphic contrast and mark making skills and is the perfect technique for creating good quality, hand-made prints.
During the course you will be introduced to the techniques needed to make both monotone and colour jigsaw Lino print exploring pattern, shape and mark making. You will create an initial design, cut your Lino, make your ’jigsaw’ and then print it, using different colours or tones.
You will learn and explore the process through looking at and discussing other printmakers' work and by demonstrations, personal experimentation and individual tuition on how to design, cut and print your image onto paper and fabric.
By the end of the course everyone will have produced professional printed images to sell or give as gifts.
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
You will be able to:
Design, cut and print an effective monotone and colour jigsaw lino print.
