About this course

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

1. Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING
2. Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

This beginners course will help learners to understand the basic music theory, start to read music independently and nurture musicianship from different aspects.  The course will cover 

1. Know the instrument and how to play with proper posture. 
2. Basic music theory. 
3. Be able to do sight-reading.  
4. Understand the character, style of the different music period. 
5. Be able to understand all the information on the music sheet. 
6. Help Students to a get a good sense of rhythm, articulation and dynamic

What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

• Students will be able to start to play any simple pieces they like.  
• They will know how to start to practice a piece effectively. 
• They can read the music properly, understanding all the information (tempo, time signature, key signature, dynamic sign, articulation) 

As this course is online learners will require access to a laptop, smart phone, computer or tablet, and the course will be delivered though Zoom.  You will also require:

• Tutorial book “Alfred’s basic adult piano course level 1” 
• Piano/Keyboard 
• Metronome or Metronome app
