We have all experienced challenges to our mental health and wellbeing in the past two years. But for some people mental ill health is a longer lasting experience Would you like to know more about mental illnesses and how to support family and friends living with these?
This half-day course offers a great preliminary learning experience for moving on to our accredited CACHE Level 1 course in Mental Health Awareness
What will be covered on the course?
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
This is a short, introductory course for people with little or no knowledge of mental illnesses or the support available. It is very suitable for carers or relatives of family members living with mental health difficulties, seeking guidance on what mental ill health is, its impact, and sources of support; or for workers who do not specialise in mental illness but come into contact through their work with people living with mental illness, who would like more knowledge and understanding of how to help. It is also suitable for people living with mental ill health who would like to know more about it.

Learners will be sent PowerPoint presentations and supplementary handouts.
This course is based on interactive teaching and learning. Learners are asked to be prepared to participate in quizzes, question and answer, discussions based on personal experience, and case study discussion
As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
