In this unique study of two uses of Myth, we look at Mythology and Masks. Following on from an introduction to myth this course on English Mythology and Masks we will look at the myths of England and the uses of Mask in theatre, storytelling, ritual and celebration.
The mythology covered will include a look at King Arthur, Robin Hood, the Green to Brutus of Troy and more. Studying the myths and legends of England and what they may mean to us today, and how we can use them to develop an interest in the use of myth. Also, a look at Masks, and how they were used and used today.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
1. To describe what English myths are
2. To explain what different types of characteristics we find in a English myth
3. To evaluate how masks and myths relate to theatre, ritual and celebration
